Take Part

We are looking for you!

Many individuals are involved in initiatives and networks focused on „Policing and Human Rights,“ both at the national and international levels. Our volunteer coordination group actively engages in these efforts. In order to maintain the efficiency of our group, we are seeking dedicated individuals who would like to contribute.

Getting involved does not require being a part of Amnesty. We also gladly welcome the support and participation of non-members.

Cooperation

Contribute does not necessarily mean that there is not time left for a private life!

Family and work a priority in almost all our active members. Naturally Amnesty members also have the desire to own free-time, regardless of the volunteer work in our organization. Volunteering takes only a self-assignable part of the free time. A hour per week is already valuable aid for human rights victims worldwide and for Amnesty International. Those who opt for a collaboration, but should create reliability and continuity of the day. Where and how you can play a part in the big picture?

Looking for some information? Subscribe to our newsletter!

If you wish to receive regular updates on human rights and policing, stay informed about political developments, and access information that may not be found in mainstream media, our newsletter is perfect for you. It not only allows you to stay engaged and provide occasional support, but also provides valuable insights for academic papers and lectures. You may come across fascinating information or make connections with individuals in the police force, as well as those involved in scientific and political discussions surrounding this issue. Additionally, our newsletter occasionally includes content that goes beyond the scope of human rights and policing.

Individual

Anyone who believes that group involvement may not align with their time availability is always welcome as an individual member. Active participation for individual members is primarily through participating in mailing campaigns, although you are welcome to contribute more if you desire. Your primary point of contact will be the group, where you can connect with other members. Individual members who have voting rights can also participate in annual meetings, but there is a membership fee of €60. As an individual member, you will receive the Amnesty Journal every two months, providing you with information on political developments and our activities as a global non-governmental organization. If you decide to become an individual member of the association, any associated costs will be covered by you. You can find the online form for individual membership on the Amnesty „parent page.“

Group

Group members enjoy several advantages. They have the right to vote in elections and internal polls. Travel expenses are reimbursed, and they receive the „Amnesty Journal“ every two months, featuring engaging reports on politics and human rights, delivered directly to their doorstep free of charge. The membership fee corresponds to the personal commitment and the time spent. On our German parent page, you can find the form for group membership. Feel free to contact us before subscribing for any further inquiries or clarifications.

Get involved

Supporter

For those who lack the time to get involved actively, we greatly appreciate any financial contributions. Our nationwide active group relies on external financial assistance to achieve our goals. Without funding, it would be impossible to provide support to individuals, coordinate our activities, and engage in necessary public relations efforts. Sponsors receive the Amnesty Journal almost every month, along with their annual contribution of €60. On the Amnesty „parent page,“ you can find the form for sponsors and supporters.

For those who are interested but find it difficult to decide which Urgent Action to participate in, there is no need to worry. Every 6-8 weeks, we provide an opportunity to write a letter in response to an urgent case, without overwhelming anyone. It is important to note that over 50% of our urgent actions have been successful, resulting in the release of individuals, fair trials, prevention of executions, or improved detention facilities and medical care. Participating in urgent actions incurs no costs, except for the postage required for mailing the letters. Information about urgent actions, including suggested letter content, will be sent to you via email.
